COST Action CA16107 EuroXanth

Workshop 2018 (Paris-Orsay)

The EuroXanth COST Action held its 1st Workshop at Beamedex® in Paris-Orsay, France, on April 3, 2018. The SME Beamedex® has the primary objective to invent, develop and market products for public health research services. These products use the Luminex® platform, a high-throughput suspension chip bead-based molecular typing technology that improves multiplexing and lowers costs. Beamedex® also provides training, customized services and bioinformatical support to improve knowledge based on previous high-throughput data production.

The workshop welcomed participants from six countries (see below) and served as a platform to discuss theoretical and practical aspects of CRISPR typing and its application to plant-pathogenic xanthomonads, which is of specific interest to Working Group WG1 (Diagnostics & Diversity – Population Structure). Representatives of all four Working Groups met to evaluate the potential of this approach to achieve the EuroXanth Objectives and its tangible Deliverables.
