Annual Conference of the COST Action EuroXanth

We are delighted to inform you that the EuroXanth COST Action will hold its 1st Annual Conference on “Integrating science on Xanthomonadaceae for integrated plant disease management in Europe” in Coimbra, Portugal, from 13 to 15 December 2017. The conference will welcome 70 to 80 participants and will serve as a platform to exchange knowledge and share technical knowhow with respect to members of the Xanthomonadaceae family.

The conference will address topics of all four Working Groups:

WG 2: Pathogen Biology
WG 3: Genetic Resistance – Host Defence

We aim at an equal representation of these four topics.

Candidate participants from companies can alternatively upload a short letter outlining their interest in the Conference.

The deadline for applications is September 24, 2017. All applications will go through selection by the Scientific Committee and successful applicants will be made aware of the decision at latest four weeks after closure of the call. Since the places at the meeting are limited we want to emphasize that the online form is only an application for registration. Completing the form does NOT mean that you are allocated a place at the conference. Please do not make any travel bookings until you have received confirmation that your application to attend the conference has been approved.

Successful applicants will be eligible for reimbursement by the EuroXanth COST Action. Travel, accommodation and subsistence costs will all be reimbursed, in line with the COST Travel Reimbursement Rules and according to the limits defined by the Management Committee. We specifically ask Early Career Investigators and colleagues from Inclusiveness Target Countries to apply for participation and reimbursement.

Participation is also possible at your own expenses and would come at a cost of approx. 85 € for registration to the conference, your personal copy of the abstract book and other conference material, refreshments during breaks and three lunches.

With kind regards,

Ralf Koebnik, Chair of the COST Action
