Special Issue “Integrating Science on Xanthomonas and Xylella for Integrated Plant Disease Management”

As an output of our EuroXanth COST Action, the four Working Group Leaders, together with the Chair, will edit a Special Issue “Integrating Science on Xanthomonas and Xylella for Integrated Plant Disease Management”. This publication will appear in the MDPI journal Microorganisms (IF 4.2 in 2018).

We encourage researchers to submit their research papers, commentaries or reviews addressing various aspects of the investigation of plant-pathogenic Xanthomonadaceae. Some of the potential topics include:

  • Taxonomy, diagnostics, and diversity;
  • Epidemiology, ecology, evolution;
  • Pathogen biology (incl. pathogenicity factors, host range, tissue specificity);
  • Host defense, genetic resistance, molecular breeding, genome editing;
  • Disease management and vector control (incl. remote sensing, biocontrol, antagonists, phage therapy, nanotechnology).

Contributions resulting from work performed by the EuroXanth COST Action may qualify to financial support from the COST Action via a Final Action Dissemination grant that was recently obtained from the COST Association. Details on eligibility are outlined in the COST Vademecum. More COST documents for download: https://www.cost.eu/funding/how-to-get-funding/documents-and-guidelines/. Notably, authors from at least three participating COST countries need to be associated with the publication.

Please consider this Special Issue for your next paper on Xanthomonas and/or Xylella!

The deadline for manuscript submission has been extended until March 31, 2021.

If you wish to obtain financial support (partial or full payment of the Open Access Article Processing Charge [APC], up to 1200 EUR max.) from the EuroXanth COST Action, please contact the ⇒ guest editors ⇐. Support will be granted as long as the financial contribution from the COST Association allows.

Important: You can also obtain a  30% APC discount if you receive an invitation from the guest editors. If you are interested in this option, please contact us BEFORE you submit your manuscript!

Please note that for papers submitted after 31 December 2020 an APC of 2000 CHF (instead of 1600 CHF) applies.

    Dear Colleagues,
    just to inform you that we would like to submit in your special issue a review entitled “Xylella control in olive: can we survive to the disaster?” in which we describe the current knowledge on control of xylella and its vector of olive as well as discuss measures taken by governments and provide future prospects for biocontrol approaches. It can be submitted in 1-1.5 months. Authors are from CNR, AIT, Univ. Sevilla, CRFSA and from industries.
    Best regards,
    Stéphane Compant
